OATMEAL DROP COOKIES



Mix together thoroughly:
cup shortening
1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
2 eggs
6 tbsp. molasses

Sift together:
1 3/4 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
Stir into sugar mixture.

Stir in:
2 cups rolled oats
cup nuts, chopped
1 cup raisins, cut-up

Drop rounded teaspoonfuls about 2" apart onto a lightly greased cookie sheet.

Bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until light brown. Makes about 5 dozen.

This recipe is from a 1948 Betty Crocker cookbook. Which by the way, had a cost of 25 cents!
